If you're a Nokia Series 40 (s40) user, .prov file is the key if you want to browse the internet on your mobile phone using Opera Mini or other internet applications like Bolt, UCweb, T-shark, etc.

Question: What is a .prov file?

.prov file is a configuration setting for Series 40 Nokia Phones that allows your phone to connect to the internet.
New tricks discovered almost everyday but the problem is most s40 users don't know how to configure or edit the proxy address, port, access points of their phones. That why .prov files are used to configure these settings instantly.

Question: How to make a .prov file?

You need:
-Two bluetooth enabled phones (may be two s40's, s40 & s60 or s40 & a china phone)
or your s40 and a PC.
-File manager/Zipman (optional)
-Prov Maker (see the link below)

First, you must have a Free Browsing Technique (FBT) *see tips and tricks*. Example, for Globe & Smart Users, we have "Magic Ip's". These Ip's are mainly used in .prov files nowadays.

Globe Magic Ip's examples:

10.201.40.43
10.201.49.3
10.201.13.226

Next, go to my Prov Maker (see the link below or you may use this form to create one) and you'll see this:

Please make sure to fill up the form correctly before clicking the "Generate" button.

Just for example, my network provider is Globe and i use one of it's Magic Ip's and i put it in the form like this:

Prov Name: regemWap (any name will work)
Access Point: http.globe.com.ph
Proxy Ip: 10.201.16.48 (any working ip will work)
Proxy Port: 80
Username: (leave blank)
Password: (leave blank)

Access Point (often called Apn) depends on your network provider:

Smart/Red Apn: internet
Globe Apn: http.globe.com.ph

Once you're done in the form, click the "Generate" button and download the .prov file (you may also download the prov as .zip).

After that, send the .prov file to your Nokia s40 phone via bluetooth and you'll receive it as configuration settings.
Note: if you download the .prov file as .zip, extract it first using ZipMan(see Downloads section) before sending the file.

Lastly, set the configuration as Default and test your work.
